NDA exam last 90 days strategy ll how to prepare for NDA 2024

In this blog we are going to talk about NDA exam last 90 days strategy. As all know NDA 2024 exam notification is out and exam is going to be held on 21 April 2024.Preparing for the NDA (National Defence Academy) exam requires a focused and strategic approach. Here's a 90-day strategy to help you prepare effectively.

nda exam last 90 days strategy

As we all know that there are two papers of 900 marks in NDA exam MATHEMATICS(120 questions) and GAT(150 questions).Let's talk about maths first-

Mathematics Paper:

  • Mathematics paper in the NDA exam consists of 300 marks.
  • The Mathematics paper has a total of 120 questions.
  • The marking scheme usually follows a pattern where incorrect answers lead to negative marking.
  • For every correct answer, candidates are awarded 2.5 marks.
  • For every incorrect answer, 0.83 (⅓) marks are deducted as a penalty.

strategy for mathematics:

90 days are enough for NDA mathematics preparation if you had mathematics in intermediate.Regular practicing of Mock tests can play a significant role for NDA exam so focus on solving mock tests as much as possible.Try to score atleast 100 marks minimum in the mock test of mathematics because 100 marks in mathematics will be sufficient for the cutoff.Practice effectively, and maintain accuracy, it will be the key for success.

but if you don't had mathematics in class 12th that your strategy will be different.First of all look at the syllabus and find out the chapters which has the highest marks weightage in NDA exam and find the chapters from more questions are coming. So rather than preparing whole syllabus of mathematics, prepare these important chapters.

whether you are from mathematics background or not ,scoring less than 100 marks will not be safe as cutoff point of view.

General Ability Test (GAT) Paper:

  • The GAT paper in the NDA exam comprises two sections: English and General Knowledge.
  • The GAT paper holds a total of 600 marks (200 marks for English and 400 marks for General Knowledge).
  • The GAT paper also generally follows a negative marking system.
  • The English section usually has 50 questions, and each correct answer is awarded 4 marks.
  • For incorrect answers in the English section, 1.33 (⅓) marks are deducted.
  • The General Knowledge section, having 100 questions, follows a similar marking pattern as Mathematics, where 2.5 marks are awarded for correct answers, and 0.83 (⅓) marks are deducted for incorrect answers.

Strategy for general ability test (GAT) paper:

In GAT let's talk about english section first. The most important part of exam will be vocab section because vocabs hold a significant weightage in English. There will be one word substitution, synonyms, antonyms, many more for atleast 40% marks of English paper so you can understand the importance of vocabs and for preparing vocabulary , there is a very useful book "WORD POWER MADE EASY BY Norman lewis" .I have already written a blog on the importance of this book.By using this book you can learn a lot of vocabulary.Learn basic important grammar rules and along with that try to read english book if you get time, it will help in comprehension part of english paper.30 questions will be enough for english section so try to solve atleast 30 questions.

Now let's talk about GS section. The syllabus of GS is very vast so completing the whole syllabus will be impossible because you will need time for mock tests and revision as well.so you need to choose chapters and sections wisely because GS section is very easy compare to other subjects. When you will see the question paper then you will notice that most of the biology and chemistry questions are from NCERT class 6th to class 10th so preparing NCERT will be enough.Try to solve atleast 30 questions,It will be enough for GS section.

lets talk about history geography poility. The syllabus of history and polity is very vast so leaving history and polity section will not be a bad decision but if you are getting time then learn some basic and important question from any NDA related book and you can also take help from previous year question papers. On the other hand geography is going to be an important subject and it also contains decent marks.NCERT of class 11th and 12th will be sufficient for geography preparation no need to waste your time anywhere else instead of NCERT's .Focus on solving atlest 10 questions of geography.

In GA prepare current affairs related to defence like defence exersises, defence weapons, missiles and learn important dates related to defence. It will be enough for GA.Three to four questions in GA should be solved correctly.

Summary-

At the end we can say that preparing whole syllabus is impossible in 90 days so focus on reading selected topics which can give maximum marks. You need to prepare keeping the cutoff marks in mind.30 questions in English,30 questions in Science,10 questions in geography so these are going to be 70 questions which means 280 marks. In mathematics if you are scoring 100 marks then total is 380 marks which is a good score as a cutoff point of view but try to read these topics very well so that you accuracy will be good and practicing mock tests is going to be game changer for you.
